a baker’s dozen of FIGs

Friends, work and parenting and taking a class and being a human in this world is a lot.

I’m a little behind on a lot and a lot behind on a little. I’m haunted by tasks. I may have taken on too much, but the only way out is through.

I am loving the class I’m taking and I’m not loving the fact that I have not yet been able to get a week ahead in assignments.

I know this is not exactly the format of the February FIG challenge, but it’s where my heart is at and I think that is FIG-gy enough.

One I’m taking Introduction to the Information Professions and this week’s chapter was all about the history of libraries and I really loved it.

Two Work has been so oof but my work best friend and I have been randomly sending what we call “memes of hope and solidarity” throughout the day and they really help me keeping going through these long days.

Three Maysie is just the best. She’s 50 lbs of love and joy (and jumping) (training starts in March) and she’s really enjoying the snow.

Four I’ve been doing a tai chi series every morning and it’s really helping with my back issues.

Five Warm, soft chocolate chip cookies. That’s it. That’s number five.

Six Lil Momma and I are going away for a night in a local hotel on Sunday to just hang out and read our books and be together. I love that she wants to do this with me in these challenging tween years.

Seven Nicole’s book! I loved reading Inhale Exhale and can’t wait to share my review once I finish that post. It was such a lovely and funny and heart grabbing read.

Eight a warm chai latte on a freezing cold day. It’s been so cold here and the other day I had one of those chais that just warm your body and soul.

Nine Bella is in good health! (For her age) after some heart and trachea problems, Bella got a good report at the vet today which was like a sigh of relief.

Ten The Mr and I got to sit and chat while LM was at dance the other night and it was great both to catch up and to get some calendar decisions off my mind.

Eleven Being reminded that my job is just a job and not my worth in this world.

Twelve pockets of socialization. A quick text or chat in the middle of homework. Running errands with a friend. It’s great to take a beat and be a person.

Thirteen I drove home from work on Wednesday and it was still light out! It was everything.

More from me once I catch up!

  1. What a wonderful list. This made me smile from start to finish. Thanks for participating.
Maysie looks so happy and I can see how that enthusiasm for life would be contagious in the best possible way.
I am really starting to notice the longer days and it makes such a difference to my mood!
