fifteen FIGs to end February
This month, I tell ya! <<gestures to the state of the world>> Work getting worse before it gets better. My first paper in my MLIS program. February school vacation with the week after having no school because of a blizzard. So much overwhelm. So much functional freeze.
AND
the February FIG challenge that has been such a bright light.
Here are my final FIGs of the challenge, which include some stories about being back in school, parenting, puppies, and smiles.

How well Lil Momma did when school was canceled for the entire week after February vacation (sigh, thanks Blizzard of 2026 and the 30+ inches of snow in my backyard). School vacations are hard for only children and then to have another week off while the Mr. and I had to work was rough - but, she totally rallied! One day, we made a deal if she got 10k steps on the treadmill she could have ice cream for dessert, 12k and she could have fast food for dinner, and 15k to choose what we watched on tv for the whole night. Of course, she did 15k and had fries, ice cream, and a night of YouTube, haha! So proud of my resilient girl!

A skincare routine! I was inspired by Stephany’s routine goals to think about morning and night routines for myself, but I’m taking baby steps and just trying an evening skincare routine as a first step. It feels nice to take 5 minutes to use a few products and just breathe before bed.
16
Sunshine after a string of grey days
17
Maysie’s haircut!
18
My textbook mentioned blogs! I almost said “those are my friends!” This chapter is was about the mixed blessings technology has brought upon library professions. My assignment is to write a discussion board response to a hypothetical town council person trying to remove library funding because technology has made libraries obsolete. Interesting writing challenge for a Saturday morning!
19
A good hair day on a day when unexpected in person meetings showed up all over my calendar
20
Maysie starting training in a week! (This got postponed because of the blizzard)
21
Dropping a class! I’ve felt so guilty about being so overwhelmed with life and work and this first class I’m taking that I’ve been ignoring the fact that I signed up for half-term class, too, that starts in 3 weeks. Giving myself the grace to know it’s ok to take a step back and focus on this one class was just such a huge relief and will allow me to enjoy LM’s dance comp prep and weekends a bit more.
22
The Mr. and LM try a new fruit every weekend and I just love watching their reactions, both to the ones they like and to the ones that are hard passes.
23
That feeling when you’re trying to save a file you’ve been working on for hours and not finally saves.
24
Driving home from work late but it’s still light out.
25
LM finally hit a dance move she’s been working oh so hard to get for months and it was so gratifying to see all her hard work paying off.
26
Getting great feedback on a paper I was afraid to submit (I had to bribe myself!).
27
Having my back feel a bit better. I’m not 100% yet - and who knows if I’ll ever be again - but it’s nice to be able to move a little easier through my days.
28
Everyone’s FIGs! I’ve been mentally blocked on commenting, but it’s been so imprinting and joyful to drop from blog to blog and see what’s making everyone smile.
Off the finish this week’s homework and then watch The Goonies with LM for the first time!
