Figure-ing out the week #1

Some numbers from this past week…

3: micro-decluttering sessions I did in the house (a shelf in our closet, the side counter in the kitchen, the bathroom vanity)

1.5: days of school yet. LM is so ready to be done and advocating for not going to the .5 tomorrow because “what even is the point?”

303: place on the hold list I am for Yesteryear

3: new places Maysie went on walks at over the weekend. Now that she’s one with 1:1 training, we are exploring our town and some trails and she’s (mostly) behaving. The girl just loves saying hi to people.

1: loaf of sourdough baked during our one weekend in June without a recital!! The freedom!!

2: weeks until school starts back up for me. I have a better schedule in mind for this asynchronous class, so I’m hoping to keep Full Send Summer going rather than living in functional freeze like I did with my first class earlier this year.

Sometimes the easiest way to get out of writer’s block is just to write, right?

Hope your solstice weekends went well!

  1. Yep, the only way around is through with writer's block. That doesn't make it any easier though.

I love me some numbers, so you are speaking my language. It's hard to argue with LM on the 0.5 day. Good luck kiddo! Booyah to Maysie for getting her walk on!

    1. I have to keep remembering that sometimes consistency has to come before motivation…

  2. I love posts like this.
I agree with LM... NOTHING happens on that final 0.5 day. I mean, honestly, for my kids at least nothing much happens the last week of classes.

Also, what a sweet picture of Maysie!

    1. You and LM were right: they watched movies and had “lunch” and the day was done. Oh, and I have a wild Maysie story to share next post. Thank goodness she’s cute after the Monday night we had!

  3. I figured it would be months before I read Yesteryear, and then it came in this week! I started out in the hundreds on the waitlist too, so I have no idea how this happened so quickly.

  4. I get so inspired every time someone mentions baking bread, because I so want to get back to the habit of baking my own. And I couldn't agree more with LM about that last day of school.

  5. Bread. Dog walks. Maysie (#hearteyes). And I don't even have enough holds to add Yesteryear, so who the heck knows when I'll manage to get it...
