Latelys #1

Inspired by the many similar lists I see (and have seen) from favorite bloggers over the years!

Lately, I’ve been watching

As a family, we’ve been watching Stranger Things for the first time. We are currently at the end of Season 3 and completely obsessed; we’ve also been watching Hot Ones and Kids Baking Championship. On my own, I’ve been watching Shetland on BritBox, but am not loving the non-book-inspired season and lots of Phily Bowden’s YouTube channel…

Cardinals I found when cleaning out my aunt’s house!

Lately, I’ve been using

I got influenced to try VIOLETTE_FR’s Bisou Balm in Bêtise  which was said to be “the perfect French-inspired matte lip”. Wouldn’t you know, it’s pretty spectacular? As someone fighting their designation of being in the Pale Lip Club, I had been using a lip stain every day but it looks quite bright with my paleness (especially on video calls). This new color is the perfect natural lip for me. The matte is a little drying, but I am also a little dehydrated so I will have to continue to try it and see if that is the problem or if I need a chapstick over it.

Lately, I’ve been reading

The Blue Castle for the CBBC (which I am loving!). I also finished India Holton’s Dangerous Damsels romantic comedy series, which was quite fun to fly through.

Lately, I’ve been worried about

Um, have you seen my country? I don’t have words for where I’m at with all of this. Desperately trying to stay off doomscrolling and present in being a light in all this darkness.

Lately,  I’ve been loving….

Finding pockets of time to read. The feeling when meal prep is over. Lil Momma’s slide deck for music class on Lin Manuel Miranda. Seeing the cardinals at the bird feeder. Catch up chats with the Mr.

Any lately from where you’re at?

  2. Oooh the lip stain! I love how long matte lips last, but I do usually need to amp it up with some balm or gloss in the winter, due to dryness.

  3. Yay Stranger Things! For some reason the boys never got into it, so it was a couples show for us. It used to come out around July 4th so we'd have ourselves a nice little binge.

The Blue Castle is soooooooo good. I am blown away.

  4. I finished The Blue Castle because I felt like I would enjoy it more if I just read the whole thing all at once. I loved it, and can't wait to keep discussing it in book club. And, yep... plenty to worry about. Stay away from the news and keep reading those books! That's what I'm doing.

  5. I love how much everyone is loving The Blue Castle! I am trying to hold myself to each week's page counts because I want it to last longer so I can savor it (but I really want to just read through because I'm loving it so much!!)....

  6. I feel like we picked a real winner with The Blue Castle, which makes me so happy!

I need to check out that lip stain. Not that I need MORE lipsticks to add to my collection, ha.
